The Washington State Toy and Geek Festival has several ways for both professionals and amateurs to display their collections or items for others to enjoy. Some displays are static (meaning there are no moving parts and there is no audience interaction with them), some are kinetic (meaning that there are moving parts but there is no audience interaction with them), and some are interactive (meaning the audience can, and is encouraged to, interact with the item/display).
All displays will be divided into four categories: Collections, Demonstrations, and Interactive Displays. There is no entry fee; however, some fees may be added depending on factors as space, electrical needs, support, etc.
- Collections – Display and share your collection(s) with Festival attendees. Acceptance must be by application only and photos and description of your collection MUST accompany the application. Exhibit Collection applications are due by April 30, 2018.
- Demonstrations – Demonstrate your craft or hobby to Festival attendees. Must be by application only. Photos of demonstration MUST accompany application. Management will contact you to determine if your demonstration can be held at the Washington State Toy and Geek Festival based on several factors. During the Festival you will be able to demonstrate at your booth and, if coordinated in writing with Management, on the Main Stage or other location as indicated, for one hour periods. Applications are due by April 30, 2018.
- Interactive Displays – Share your display with the the attendees of the Washington State Toy and Geek Fest and encourage their interaction with your items or display. These are typically photo-op, educational, or a combination of the two. These applications will be accepted by application only. Safety is paramount, so certain restrictions may be in place for this category. Applications are due by April 10, 2018.If you label your display as interactive there are certain inherent risks that you assume, such as broken or missing items, scuffs, dirt, etc. The Washington State Toy and Geek Fest is not responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of your display; however, we will do everything we can to ensure it is treated with respect and adoration.
